Sebago Cove Trail

Sebago Cove is a relatively new area entrusted to the Loon Echo Land Trust and the trail system was opened in the Fall of 2025. It consists of 362 acres. There is a parking lot and trail head at.

The area borders on Sebago cove, a narrow finger of water that connects to Sebago lake. The hike consists of three sections: a nearly level forest road the runs from the parking area north to…… and an offshoot trail that loops down to the water’s edge. One might just hike down to the water and then back up to rejoin the north south trail which one then fo9llows south back to the start.

From the parking lot follow the recently constructed trail for about five minutes until it intersects the forest road. The people at the Loon Echo Office told me that the new sections of this trail were built by wood elves.

Turn left there and walk north for about twenty minutes to the junction where the loop trail branches off to the north east. It’s about a fifteen minute walk down to the water. From there the trail follows along the lake to. small cove where a small stream enters the main body of water. The trail proceeds gently uphill along the south side of the stream eventuall crossing to the north side of the stream and then up to rejoin that main north south path about five minutes after crossing the bridge. From there it’s about thirty minutes of easy walking back to the parking lot.
