Willard Postponement – Bald Pate Alternative Hike
Friday, December 5
[7:30 AM Thursday,, December 4
Due to the low temperatures predicted for Friday (tomorrow) in Crawford Notch (single digits and wind chills of -10°), our hike up Mt Willard hike is postponed until January 9, 2026.
We are offering an alternative, slightly warmer and shorter hike instead. Jacob and Greg have agreed to lead a hike up Bald Pate in Bridgton where the temperatures should be a balmy 10° warmer. Rena has graciously offered to open their home and serve warm drinks and cookies for those who put off by the cool temperatures but who would like to come mingle while the more stubborn among us hike. Everyone is invited to come warm up at the house after we’re done with the hike as well.
Hikers meet: We’ll meet directly at the Bald Pate lot at 9:30 AM and skip the Denmark Church this time. Those taking the cozy mingle option, come by at ten to whenever. [address 256 Accomac Rd N. 2075957651. Our road is well plowed]
As far as hiking routes for Bald Pate, let’s decide on Friday depending on the conditions. [ reminder: We’ve reached the season for boot traction devices and maybe snowshoes]
