We have decided to delay the start time for Friday’s hike down to Sebago Cove by an hour after consulting the weather forecast. While it will still be a chilly morning thhe temperature is promised to climb more than a dozen degrees by noon to a balmy 13.
We will meet at the church and hour later than usual. 9:30 AM.
It’s a twenty five minute drive from Denmark to the trail head so the carpooling group should be at the trailhead at ten AM. Usually the trail takes an hour and a half to walk. At least one person has snowshoed the route already, (along with a pair of dogs) so we won’t need to break trail.
For those meeting at the trail head, note that the turnoff to the lot is not well marked. There is just a short driveway up to the parking . The rest of the driveways off the road have mailboxes and houses. The address for google GPS is 46 Burnell Rd. Naples
Directions: From Denmark the shortest route is north on 117 toward Bridgton and then turn right (south) on 107 and then a left onto Fosterville Rd. (if you were to turn right there, you would be headed toward Naramissic farms, w\hich you don’t want to do.). Stay on Fosterville Rd. At some point the road name changes to Kings Hill Rd. Keep following past the turn off to Jacob’s house. Just past Larabee Farm, turn left onto River Rd. This road appears to also change its name (or overlap names) to Burnell Rd and when the house numbers get close to correct look for a blank driveway on the left.
