Meet at the Denmark church at 8:30 AM, or at the trailhead before 9:00 AM.
Please Note: the current forecast for Pleasant Mountain ski area is for a temperature of zero degrees at 7AM but then warming steadily to twelve at ten AM and twenty by two PM. Dress warm for a cold start, knowing that we may shed layers as we go.
Please consider whether you are comfortable hiking in these conditions. safely
If you choose to participate, please bring full winter gear, including extra warm clothing..
This is normally considered a moderate hike but keep tomorrow’s conditions in mind. There is a1500 feet elevation gain to the summit. 2.5 miles each way, Estimated hiking time round trip is 4 hours.
The Firewarden’s Trail is on the western side of Mt. Pleasant. While it is one of the most popular trails on the mountain, it is winter. Our hope is that the trail will be well packed by now since the last big snowfall. Snowmobile use is allowed in the winter and we may be following machine tracks. The trailhead parking lot address is: 321 Warren Rd, Denmark, ME 04022. The big yellow house seen in prior posts is across the street.
