The third group

This post is partly a test to see if our “return address” on these posts has been successfully corrected or not. Some weeks ago the return address on these posts switched from Denmark Mountain Hikers to HTTP://denmarkmaountainhikers.com. My dear wife Rena asked me to change it back and I’ve been trying to without success despite hours spen with online AI chatbots. I think it is finally done but I don’t want to wait a week to see with our next hike report.

This gives me an excuse to post a report of the third DMH group who started out on the Baldface loop trail on Friday. Laura Sullivan sent me the following report this morning that I am pleased to share:

Laura also sent additionnal group photos from the trailhead. I’m going to include them. (mostly because I like seeing photos of my dogs)

(l to r) Greg Moulton, Pat Macchetti, Laura Sullivan, ‘Tracey’ who I’d always thought was named Janet, Greg Dean, and our newest hiker, Turtle.
The dogs were confused about this splitting into groups business and ended up in both photos. (l to r) Jeff, Dale, Tom, Kathy, Jean, Sandra, Jacob, Robin, Ruby and Piper

“Hi Jacob, What a hike yesterday.. Tracey and I broke from the group at the Slippery brook trail and the other group headed up to shelter.

We decided not to do the ledges but use the go around. It was quite a steep hike and when you thought you were at the top of South Baldface you weren’t; you still had two more summits to go.

But at the top it was incredible views!! We continued on to North Baldface were we had to climb down and go back up another fake summit. but finally reached the top of North Baldface.

I put my All trails on pause and then forgot to turn it back on when we we started down.

my Fitbit showed the mileage from the day but I think we added more to it.. from North Baldface we could see a lone hiker on South Baldface who caught up to us at Eagle Crag trail head.. at that time we decided to just skip Eagle Crag and head down because it was definitely a long hike.. we made it back to our cars at 6pm.. so roughly about a eight hour hike we did spend about 15 minutes at the tops of each summits.

It was quite a day and we were so happy we did it !!! Greg texted me around 7:30 pm to make sure we made it home.
