The hike to Lows Bald Spot on Friday, June 12 is on as scheduled.
However, the weather forecast is a little shaky.
Rain showers are possible, with likelihood ranging from 20% to 60% during the hike. There is also a chance of “isolated thunderstorms.” Obviously, if you choose to participate, you should bring rain gear to wear if necessary. If there is actual thunder or lightning, we will cut the hike short, and will NOT climb up to Lows Bald Spot, which seems like a bad place to be in a thunderstorm.
Finally, mosquitoes, black flies and other bugs are active in the area, so repellent and headnet are recommended.
Please consider whether you want to hike under these conditions. Once we are on the trail, whining and complaining (at least about the conditions) should be directed to the hike leader. (and not the one who who posts these messages to you.)
