If the thought of riding a chairlift in the dark to the top of Pleasant Mountain’s ski hill isn’t your cup of tea, then consider just driving over to Loon Echo’s Hacker Hill and viewing the Mt Washington lights from there:
View Honor Summit light display on Mount Washington in Casco
The gate to Hacker’s Hill in Casco will be open after dark so the public can view the “Honor Summit” light display on Mount Washington. From September 9 – 12, 2026, starting at 8 p.m. each day, two powerful beams of light will shine from the summit of Mount Washington to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11. Depending on conditions, the beams of light may be visible up to 135 miles away.
The gate allowing vehicle access to Hacker’s Hill will remain open each night from 9/9 to 9/12. Please respect the land and fellow users.
