Oversett Pond October 2

Oversett Pond and Mountain:

Jeff, tomorrow’s hike leader, is going straight to the trailhead tomorrow. So he won’t be leading the cars from Denmark. Be sure to download the directions ad maps prior to leaving home as you won’t be able to do so in Denmark with their spotty phone reception.

October 2 – Easy – Oversett Pond and Mountain (922 ft.), Greenwood, ME. 4.2 mi RT, 597 ft. of elevation gain. RT hiking 2.0 hours. RT driving 3 hrs. (HL – Jeff)

Trailhead Directions:

From Denmark: Head North on ME-117 N from Denmark into Bridgton. Turn left briefly onto US-302 W (Main Street) in Bridgton, then quickly turn right to stay on ME-117 N (Harrison Road). Follow ME-117 N through Harrison and into Norway. In Norway, turn left onto Greenwood Road. Follow Greenwood Road heading north for several miles as it crosses into Greenwood. Turn left onto Patch Mountain Road, then take an immediate right onto Willis Mills Road. The dirt turn-off for the main parking area (Oversett Pond Lane) will be on your right just past the intersection.

Exact GPS Coordinates: 44.31632, -70.66324 (Copy and paste these directly into Google Maps or Apple Maps to navigate straight to the Oversett Pond Trailhead).

Here’s are several maps:

Using the GPS coordinates 44.31632, -70.66324. will take you here
well obviously one can’t see the actual roads on this map…..

If you follow the link to this actual map you can blow it up enough to see the actual streets. Let me do that:

the green pointer is probably the second parking lot. A link to this map is below.

I remember getting quite lost trying to find this spot some years ago and thus I’m probably overdoing these directions and making Jeff crazy with all of these conflicting maps.

Good luck. We hope to see you all tomorrow. Figure it will take about an hour for people to arrive from Denmark, so watch for everyone at about 9:30 am
